School Council Parents Needed
It is a Georgia State Law that each public school must establish a school council which consist of the principal, two parents of students enrolled in the school, two employees at the school, and two businesspersons. The establishment of school councils is intended to help local boards of education by bringing parents and the community together with teachers and school administrators to create a better understanding of and mutual respect for each other's concerns and share ideas for school improvement. The school council provides advice and recommendations to the school principal, area assistant superintendent, superintendent and, when appropriate, the local board of education.

The Freedom School Council has two (2) parent vacancies. If you are interested in serving on the school council, please submit a paragraph to the principal explaining why you would make a good parent/guardian representative by September 20, 2016. The school council election for the parent members will be held on September 22, 2016, which is also parent conference night.
